Expansion Modules — Side Cars for Receptionists
A side car — also called an expansion module — is a colour-screen panel of programmable buttons that attaches to the side of a Yealink desk phone and turns it into a full reception console. Each button shows a colleague's name and a busy-lamp-field (BLF) light, so the receptionist can see at a glance who is on the phone across the entire office and transfer a call with a single press instead of hunting for an extension number.
Side cars are the standard fit for receptionists, administrative assistants, dispatchers and contact centre staff — anyone handling a high volume of calls for a lot of people. Match the module to the phone: the EXP50 pairs with the Yealink T53/T53W/T54W/T57W/T58A/T58W, and the EXP55 pairs with the T7X/T8X series including the flagship SIP-T88W Pro.
